Alexander Wang Fights Back

Alexander Wang has yet again denied sweatshop allegations from his former employees.

He first faced allegations in March when some of his employees filed a $450 million lawsuit against him claiming they had to work in an unventilated room for up to 16 hours with no compensation. They claimed they were working in “sweatshop-like conditions,” but Wang has continued to deny these allegations.

The 27-year-old designer best known for his edgy, simple and androgynous designs moved to New York from San Francisco to start his career, first attending Parsons School of Design. Over the years, he has received numerous awards including, The Swiss Textiles Award and was recognized in 2011 by GQ as Best Designer of the Year.

Wang continues to stand by his previous statement that the work environment of his employees is well-ventilated with large windows. He also states that the individuals filing the suite are “two disgruntled former employees with axes to grind.”

Although this has brought some attention (the bad kind!) to Alexander Wang Inc. he continues to fight and won’t let anyone rain on his parade.
