Michelle Williams shines as Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn. Director Simon Curtis shares a glimpse of Marilyn’s life, as brief as a summer fling. Hailed as one of William’s best performances to date, she is the total embodiment of the broken bombshell. With every blonde hair and batted eyelash, she steals the screen. Told from the set of 1957’s The Prince and The Showgirl, from the perspective of Colin Clark (Eddie Redmayne), the film’s third Assistant Director, the audience has no more insight into Monroe’s thoughts or intentions than Clark himself. We are left pondering; was simply being Marilyn Monroe, in itself, the greatest performance of her career. A must-see for Monroe enthusiasts and movie goers alike.
